nurse tThis project is being supported by Plan Ghana, a humanitarian child centered development organization, devoted to the improvement of lives of children.

The Goal of the Child Survival project is to make child welfare services and basic health care including growth monitoring and promotion and nutrition education and immunization accessible to children under five years of age and women aged 15-49 in Plan and GRASP assisted communities.

GRASP initially implemented the Child Survival project in sixteen communities in the Manya Krobo district of the Eastern Region of Ghana in 2002-2003.

Use of Insecticide Treated Nets (ITN) is one key intervention in malaria prevention and management among pregnant women and children under five years of age. Click here to read more on the use and distribution of ITN in our project communities.

Promotion of Girl-child Education

This is a one-year project being implemented with support from the Global Fund for Women. The project aims at enrolling brilliant but needy girls in schools, and also giving the opportunity to young female drop- outs willing to be re-enrolled back in school.

GRASP therefore initiated a scholarship scheme to provide 15 selected pupils in its project communities in the Hohoe District of the Volta Region. The inauguration attracted stakeholders such as the District Coordinator of girl-child education, traditional leaders from the project communities, parents and guardians.
